Brighton & Hove W1s 0-2 Epsom W1s
Orla Lee reports: "Brighton W1s put in a strong and spirited performance on home turf against Epsom W1s, but were left frustrated after a 2–0 defeat that didn’t reflect the balance of play. Backed by a fantastic home crowd, Brighton dominated possession for large periods and looked the more threatening side in open play. However, it was Epsom who made the most of their limited chances, scoring early from a scrappy short corner and netting a second in the dying seconds as Brighton threw everything forward in search of an equaliser.
Hero of the game went to Molly. And goof of the game to Orla."

Andrea Catlow reports: "Brighton Women’s 3rd XI delivered a commanding performance against newly promoted Mid Sussex 2s, cruising to a 6–0 victory packed with flair, teamwork, and a few cheeky moments—starting with a pre-match debate over ball colour. With Mid Sussex favouring white over orange and Brighton sporting white socks and wanting orange, the teams settled amicably on pink. Stylish and practical.
Despite Mid Sussex arriving with three losses, two of those were narrow one-goal defeats, so Brighton approached the match with confidence but not complacency. That caution quickly gave way to control, as Brighton’s forward press kept the ball locked in the attacking half for most of the game. Imo (or “Emo,” depending on Jess H’s pronunciation) made electric runs into the D and along the back line, while Mirriam (aka Tom Daley), Shelley, and Jo gave the Mid Sussex keeper—playing only her fourth match—a serious workout. The scoring opened with Shelley, who converted a short corner. The routine may not have been textbook, but the ball found the net and that’s what counts. Brighton kept up the pressure, earning another penalty corner which Ellen expertly dispatched. Just before halftime, Mirriam added a third, sending Brighton into the break 3–0 up. The only hiccup? A stern halftime chat from the umpires about stick tackles from both sides. Defensively, Alex was rock-solid—possibly hinting at a new permanent role if the defender shortage continues. Ellen impressed in her debut, while Tess and Diva were calm and composed, working the ball around the back with ease. Tess also made dangerous runs up the pitch, piling pressure on the Mid Sussex defence.
The second half began with a bang: a 16-yard hit from Diva went straight to Jo, who passed to Imo for Brighton’s fourth—executed within seconds. Jo then added her own goal, sharp and well-positioned with her trusty old stick back in hand. In midfield, Abby had space to distribute beautifully, while Kelly showcased silky stick skills to glide past defenders. Enes and Izzy used their pace and precision to slice through the Mid Sussex midfield, keeping the pressure relentless. The final goal was a stunner: Imo again, with a cracking strike from the edge of the D that sealed the win in style. At the back, Jess H kept a clean sheet, with Mid Sussex’s only short corner coming from a clearance that bounced off Tess’s foot – we had to give them a chance!
After a mission to get to teas, Mirriam was super disappointed to find that Alex, despite all the jobs she had taken on, had slackened in her waitress duty to provide adequate food for her and offered her a massive pumpkin instead."

Simon Healey reports: "A good crowd on a warm sunny afternoon saw another dominant Brighton display against a young Lewes team. The first 15 minutes were scrappy, with little space to be had. But as the half wore on Brighton began to dominate the midfield battles, and we created plenty of chances - these led to a first half hat trick for Grace and a goal for Sorrel.
The second half saw us make several positional changes, but we continued to dominate. We threatened from all over the pitch, but Grace continued to dominate the scoring, adding another 4. Tired legs and a bit of complacency allowed Lewes a few chances late on, but Ivy ensured we didn’t concede.
MoMs were officially Kayla and Lily, which seemed a bit harsh on Grace, but I guess Lewes had had enough of her. Another excellent team performance, but tougher tests will come - starting with Eastbourne in the cup in a fortnight."
