Club looking to provide 40 helpers over two days in April to raise £500 towards funds

Brighton Marathon has offered Brighton and Hove Hockey Club £500 if we can get 20 volunteers to Preston Park on each of the days of the event next month.

Event organisers are looking for groups of volunteers to be a part of the team helping to support thousands of runners and spectators at one of the biggest events for the city, and the UK’s second largest marathon. They want people who are "enthusiastic, friendly, helpful and committed".

On Saturday April 13 there are volunteers required for the Mini Mile and on Sunday April 14 for the Brighton Marathon itself, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.

For the Mini Mile, volunteers will assist with things such as marshalling, race pack collection and repatriation, with jobs assigned on the day. On marathon day, the role will be based in Preston Park to help at the mass start for the BM10k race and the marathon.
There are posters in the clubhouse with a sign-up sheet for each day and hopefully this can become an annual event in the hockey club calendar and therefore raise more for the club in the future.
