"The M1s started the new campaign in the South East Men's Premier Division after relegation from the National League Men's Conference East last season. There have been a number of departures from the squad, including coach Dafydd Charles and players Patrick Ford, Fintan Harman, Will Heywood, Alberto Martinez, Jens Peters, Juan Sosa, Nathan Tyler and Edward Zeidler. The squad has welcomed in player coach Andy Blood (from Bromley & Beckenham HC) and players Chris Anson, Sam Bulger, Jono Hawley, Ali Murtaza and Aonghas Robertson.

The M1s started the season with an away loss to Guildford M2s, Ali Murtaza scored."

"The W1s started the new campaign in the South East Women's Premier Division after a strong finish last season. There have been a number of departures from the squad, including Izzy Fludder, Abby Furber, Orla Lee and Meg McCaughan. The squad has welcomed in Emily Keating (from Oxted HC), Charlotte 'CJ' Nichols (from Horsham HC), and the return of Kate 'Bills' Smith."

"Off to Oxted, the W1s were ready to go, 
With plenty of energy and plenty to show. 
The challenge was set, the whistle was blown, 
And the Brighton spirit was quickly shown!

Emily arrived with positivity strong,
Even with old teammates not cheering along. 
A friendly reunion, though the rivalry was tight, 
She kept the team smiling and playing just right!

CJ made her debut, what a way to start!
While Bills came back with a welcome from the heart.
Both brought their energy, both brought their flair, 
And soon the Brighton spirit was everywhere!

Molly was flying, defending with pride, 
A sliding tackle, perfectly timed!  
Then through the middle, with passes so neat,
Her transfers were making the midfield complete.

Joey was firing, putting goals in the net, 
With attacking hockey you won’t soon forget. 
And down the line, with pace to delight, 
Anna and Kayla at lightning speed, what a sight!

Anna was attacking, pushing up with style, 
Taking on defenders and making them work all the while. 
And when Oxted came charging, looking to score,
Betty was there! And then saving some more!
Save after save, she stood tall in the goal, 
Keeping Brighton battling, keeping control. 
AJ and Jonny brought enthusiasm galore, 
Running, encouraging and giving much more!

Bara was strong with tackles precise, 
Putting in challenges that looked very nice. 
And Bills got forward with a shot full of might,
Giving the Oxted defence a serious fright!

So from back to the front, the team gave their best,
3 goals for Brighton, 1 for the host,
A 3-1 win and a result to boast!
There was positivity, pace and plenty of fight,
With Brighton & Hove giving everything right.
A team full of spirit, determination and flair,
The W1s showed once again they’re a force to beware!

Hero of the Match was Joey Bryant, after a fantastic performance in every way! Three brilliant goals saw her complete a hat-trick, helping Brighton to victory with terrific finishing!
Goof of the Day went to me, I’m afraid, after getting completely tangled up in my shoelace!"
