Seven wins, including the W1s, and one draw.

Bromley & Beckenham M1s 5-1 BHHC M1s
"Sam Rose scored in a tough away game."

BHHC W1s 6-0 Canterbury W2s
Grace McAlister reports: "Brighton ladies 1s delivered a dominant performance from start to finish, securing an emphatic 6–0 victory over Canterbury ladies 2s in a match that showcased confidence, control, and outstanding team spirit.

From the push back, Brighton set the tone, pressing high and moving the ball with purpose. The team’s intensity never dropped, and Canterbury were put under pressure immediately, struggling to settle as Brighton dictated the pace of the game.

Defensively, Brighton were rock solid throughout. The back line worked superbly as a unit, with strong tackling and excellent organisation shutting down any Canterbury attacks. Distribution from Megs was a real standout, calmly transitioning play from defence into midfield and allowing Brighton to build wave after wave of attack. The defensive discipline meant Canterbury were limited to very few chances, giving Brighton complete control of the game.

The midfield was outstanding, controlling possession with confidence and composure. Quick passing, intelligent movement, and great decision-making allowed Brighton to dominate the centre of the pitch. This control created a constant supply of quality chances for the forwards, who were relentless in their attacking play and movement off the ball.

Going forward, Brighton were clinical and creative. The goals were well-earned and reflected the team’s all-round performance: Joey Bryant (2), Grace McAlister, Sorrel Lee, Molly Beard and Kayla Wienekus.

Beyond the scoreline, what stood out most was the team spirit. Communication, encouragement, and support for one another were evident across the pitch, reflecting a squad that is truly growing together. This was another strong statement performance from a team that is clearly going from strength to strength. An excellent all-round display and another solid win for Brighton Ladies. Onwards and upwards.

Player of the Match: Joey B.
Goof of the day: Grace – for the unforgettable tanned/orange hands."

Woking M2 4-0 BHHC M2s

Old Georgians W3s 1-0 BHHC W2s

BHHC M3s 2-3 Eastbourne M2s

East Grinstead W3s 5-0 BHHC W3s
Mirriam Almashat reports: "Even before pushback , the game had already begun… with the GMS / SE website debacle causing chaos throughout the week. Huge credit to Captain Alex for standing her ground and fighting through the admin madness so we could actually play hockey. Captaincy at its finest!

The day started exactly how you’d expect for an 10am Saturday push-back - chaos, questionable life choices, and vibes all over the place. Pre-match team talk consisted mainly of Kelly passionately fantasising about “Fascination” by Alphabeat, which she claimed was her winning song. After much consideration, it has been officially confirmed this will not be added to the warm-up playlist. Ever.

Meanwhile, Izzy M was casually breastfeeding her baby while Captain Alex delivered one of her motivational team talks - multitasking at its finest. Jess O arrived fashionably late due to her packing her bags as she had to catch a flight to Botswana straight after the game… just casually international like that.

Then came the main event: a cold, wet, truly miserable morning as W3s made the 8am trek to East Grinstead - because apparently none of us have social lives. We also discovered EG had significantly refreshed their squad since the first half of the season. We’ll take that as a compliment, obviously!

EG came out firing with multiple attempts on goal, but Jess H turned into an actual ninja between the posts, pulling off save after save to keep us in it. Eventually one slipped through, and Brighton struggled to find our usual rhythm - a sharp contrast to last week’s cracking win. The rain and cold definitely didn’t help, and EG added a second and third, aided by some interesting advantage calls instead of short corners… we’ll leave it there.

After half time, W3s finally clicked into gear - the passes started flowing, movement improved, and chances began to come our way. It very much felt like everyone had woken up, with better link-up play and more time in their half, but despite the improved momentum we just couldn’t quite get that final touch to finish things off.

Up front, Imo was making her signature baseline runs, Mirriam was positioned well in the D, and Wan was doing what she does best - absolute chaos - but we just couldn’t find the final touch. A big shout-out to Izzy M on her first game back! Midfield saw Kelly, Izzy K and Jess O working hard, with Abby, Ellen and Alex screening well. At the back, Emma, Elena and Diva battled throughout, doing their best to shut down the pressure.

Not our day on the scoreboard, but plenty of effort, laughs, and moments to take forward.

MOM: Jess H - outstanding saves and pure composure. Special mention to Elena, who was a very close second for man of the match - strong performance and well deserved.
DOD: Mirriam - reasons remain unclear, but the vote was decisive."

BHHC Girls Gulls 7-1 Burgess Hill Girls Ambers

BHHC Boys and Girls U12s Junior Tournament at Angmering School
Jenny Tasker reports: "A great tournament in Angmering: 5 matches each, 2 Brighton teams, and some decent weather to top it off.

We were missing our super defender Millie Fitchett and our excellent GK Ciara, which made things tough defensively, especially with no one keen to slot in at the back. Despite that, the team put together a strong set of performances. We conceded the most goals against Horsham, who fielded their A team rather than a mixed-ability side, and our lack of a settled defence was noticeable. Even so, the girls competed brilliantly throughout. Goals came from Eleanor (5), Ines (5), Maya (2), and Sienna (1).

Players of the Match went to Ines and Sienna - two outstanding midfielders who covered the entire pitch. They tracked back tirelessly to support the defence, carried the ball from one end of the pitch to the other, and regularly capped their performances with goals or superb assists for Eleanor."
