Horsham W1s 3-2 BHHC W1s
Abby Furber reports: "In our final match of the season, Brighton & Hove Women’s 1st XI arrived at Horsham determined to finish on a strong note, and that determination showed right from the start.

We created several early chances, moving the ball well through midfield and putting real pressure on their defence. Despite that positive start, Horsham managed to score first, taking a 1–0 lead against the run of play. We responded quickly, continuing to push forward until Aoife struck a well-taken equaliser to bring us level at 1–1. The game stayed competitive, but just before halftime Horsham took advantage of a loose moment and edged ahead again, sending us into the break 2–1 down.

The second half saw us come out with real purpose. Our midfield - Bara, Rachel, Eliza and Liv worked tirelessly. The defence—Meg, Anna, Honey, and Abby held strong. The forwards - Aoife, Molly and Sorrell continued to cause Horsham plenty of problems. Our effort paid off when Sorrel scored a deserved second equaliser, bringing the match back to 2–2 and shifting the momentum again. Unfortunately, Horsham regained the lead through a sequence of deflections in the circle, leaving us 3–2 down despite some excellent goalkeeping from Amanda, who pulled off several key saves, including a couple off her helmet. Our efforts kept us within reach right to the end. We pushed hard in the final minutes, with consistent pressure, sharp attacking play, and solid defending across the pitch. Although the final equaliser didn’t come, the team finished with heads high, proud of the fight and determination shown throughout. The match ended 3–2, but it was a strong, committed performance that reflected how much the squad put into this final fixture.
Goals : Aoife Codyre, Sorrel Lee
Goof : Abby (thought we drew, later found out she wasn't the only one!) Hero : Anna
Have a nice Christmas break, hopefully next year more wins!"

BHHC M2s 4-0 South Saxons M1s

BHHC W2s 0-4 Lewes W1s

South Saxons M2s 1-3 BHHC M3s

Worthing W1s 2-5 BHHC W3s
Alexandra Smart reports: "Brighton W3s ended the first half of the season in the best possible way, taking a 5–2 win over Worthing W1s in a match that had drama, chaos, goals, laughs, and plenty of festive spirit.

Worthing started strongly and pressured early. They won a penalty corner which Emma bravely stopped on the line with her stomach, which unfortunately meant Worthing were awarded a penalty flick. They converted it and went 1-0 up. Brighton responded with their own penalty corner – a classic Jo and Alex ‘out and in’ which Jo finished beautifully straight past the keeper. 1-1 and we were back in the game. Turns out that this move isn’t trade marked and Worthing stole it minutes later to score their own ‘out and in’ penalty corner to go into half time with a 2-1 lead.

Christmas market mulled wines kicked in for Worthing in the second half and Brighton pushed into full on ninja mode to score three goals in 5 minutes. With some back and forth on a penalty corner, Shelley got the ball over the line. We’d barely made it back into our defending half when the ball got back into the D less than a minute later. Wan was nestled in her favourite spot on the left post to smash the ball in and score her much anticipated and well deserved first goal of the season. Her reindeer style celebratory leap was well captured by the match photographer. Brighton showed no mercy and Jo put her name on the scoresheet again with a classy finish a few minutes later. Frantically calculating the golden stick tally, Mirriam then threw herself into the goal (after the ball had crossed the line) off a defender. We’ll let her take the credit for her commitment to make sure it was definitely in the goal.

There were plenty of other memorable incidents too. Kayla picked up a card off the back of both Captains being called in to remind their teams that they need to tackle for the ball and not just sticks. Wan let out a loud “bollocks” to the umpire. And Mirriam managed to break early on two back to back penalty corners. She claims Captain Alex was shouting “go go go!” – she was in fact shouting “wait, wait, wait”. Clearly King’s English vs Scottish miscommunication. Despite the reduced defence, Brighton kept a clean sheet in the second half.

Through it all, Jess H was brilliant in goal, making several important saves to keep Brighton ahead. The defence - led by Diva, Alex and Emma - played with confidence and control. In screen and midfield, Jess O, Izzy, Kayla, Wan and Ines worked tirelessly, linking play and keeping Brighton driving forward. The forwards - Mirriam, Shelley, Jo, and Imo (who had already played a school match!) kept Worthing’s defence under constant pressure.

After the match, Worthing hosted with proper festive spirit, pulled pork, pigs in blankets, roasted potatoes, and mulled wine. Those who arrived early even got to enjoy their adorable Christmas market - an added bonus to a great away day.

Goals: Jo Whiting x2, Shelley Formstone, Frances Holliday, Mirriam Almashat.
MOM: Emma - for fearless defending and putting her whole body on the line (literally).
DOD: Mirriam - for enthusiastic short corner running."

BHHC Girls Gulls No game.

Eastbourne Girls U16s 3-5 BHHC Girls U16s Cormorants
Simon Healy reports: "The Cormorants maintained their 100% record this season, and learnt some valuable lessons around winning ugly when not at their best.
Missing several key defenders we experimented with an aggressive 3-2-3-2 formation which worked well and we reached half time 4-1 to the good. There were some great strikes from Poppy, Grace and Imo and a second from Grace. Defensively we were occasionally exposed, but Iris, Flo and Athena held firm whilst Kayla and Ines formed an excellent partnership in midfield.
The second half was a much tougher affair, with Eastbourne battling hard. We still had the better of the chances, but a combination of some wasteful finishing and poor passes left us holding on at the end. The only highlights of the half were another goal for Poppy and some great aggression from Ines in midfield.
MoMs were Iris, Ines and Poppy (unlucky not to have a hat trick).
Up next are Havant in the cup in mid January."
