Goalkeepers scooped the top player of the year awards at a packed Old Ship Hotel on Saturday night as Brighton & Hove Hockey Club enjoyed their annual dinner dance again after two Covid-impacted years.

Chris Borsoi and Sophie Benton were voted by their teammates as the outstanding players in the club's first men's and women's sides and they were given a rapturous reception by 200 members at the end of season celebration on Brighton seafront. The season's award winners were:
