The club is looking to increase its pool of umpires and coaches. As part of the England Hockey Club Membership, the club has access to online training courses for umpiring and coaching, in order to help the development and engagement within the sport.
BHHC members can gain a free Level 1 umpiring qualification from the England Hockey website via the following link:
https://www.englandhockey.co.uk/deliver/officiate/umpire/umpiring-courses
. There are a number of dates currently available to book online so please sign up.
If you complete the free course and email the confirmation certificate, you will get a discount on a match fee. For those already registered as an umpire with EH (those who have completed the course and have passed an assessment match), you will get a match fee paid for each time you umpire.
Luke Cain-Williams, Frances Block, Alan Grey and Richard Barnes will be working together on the umpiring side of the club. Luke is compiling a list of club umpires and asks members to follow the steps below and complete the form once registered.
The route to Level 1 qualification:
1) Complete the England Hockey free online Level 1 course by setting up an account at: https://hockeyhub.englandhockey.co.uk/officiating-offer
2) Download your certificate
3) Complete the BHHC New Umpire Registration Form
4) Send your certificate to Luke (lukecainwilliams@gmail.com)

The club also aims to work again with Victoria Dennett who runs the Sussex Young Umpires Programme.
