Brighton & Hove Hockey Club is shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden death last week of Lucy Spearman, a popular former member. She was 58 and leaves a husband, John, and her two lovely daughters.

Lucy played for the BHHC women's teams in the 1980s and 1990s, was a lively presence on various hockey tours and a regular at the club's annual dinner dance with John, a stalwart of the men's section who plays currently for the 8s.

The club sends its deepest condolences to John, Zoe and Jodie and asks for respect for the family's privacy at this very sad time.
