South East representation increases to five - and Ali Wheatley is looking for more

This year Brighton & Hove Hockey Club has doubled the number of its women being selected to represent the South East Masters regional squads.

Ali Wheatley and Angela Farthing have been re-selected for the Over-55s and Over-50s respectively, with Ali continuing to manage the Over-55 squad. Ali will play the weekend of May 20-21 in Bedford and Ange the weekend of May 13-14 at Old Loughtonians. Ange is "excited to be part of the tournament once again" stating "there was some tough competition this year so I'm really pleased".

In addition, congratulations go to Joey Bryant, Andrea Catlow (aka Diva) and Stephanie Kalber, who have been selected to represent the Over-40 South East qquad. Their regional tournament will be played on May 20-21 at Southgate Hockey Club.

Diva says: "It's awesome we got in and I'm excited for the opportunity to play with people I would normally play against in the league. It's been a lovely, welcoming atmosphere and I'm hoping for lots of fun with a great standard of hockey."

Joey adds: "We're really excited to be representing at the tournament and if anyone wants to come and support us, please do!"

Ali has been trying to promote Masters hockey across the women's side of the club and is still keen for more players to get involved. She is currently looking to get Brighton involved in the South Masters Premier Leagues and All England Cup for both Over-35 and Over-45 age groups next season.
