Bella Mapledoram reports: "On Saturday, feeling positive for a win against Horsham and having drawn with them in the first half of the season, we were determined to come out on top to start the second half of the season well. The game started strong, with some great passages of play in attack with Bara, Renee and Izzy playing the ball wide to Amy and Orla, and some strong defensive work in our back line, alongside fantastic saves from Abbie.
With some promising opportunities at both ends but no successful conversions, the half ended 0-0. At the start of the second half, we were confident and our work rate was high from the whistle. Our pressing from the forwards meant we were able to turn over possession and win a short corner. A one-two between Bara and Meg resulted in a fantastic goal, giving us a 1-0 advantage.
However, Horsham responded to this and, a few minutes later, entered the D. The first shot was stopped then picked up off the rebound from where they equalised. We held our intensity and energy to create chances and build play; however, in the last 10 minutes, Horsham managed to enter the D on a counter attack, and scored to make it 2-1.
Despite a few more opportunities in the final minutes of the match, we were unsuccessful in equalising. Although it wasn't the result we wanted it was a great team effort and we are ready for this weekend!
MoM went to Abbie, Bara and Orla.
DoD went to Bella (for trying to sub onto the pitch with her bib on)."

Alex Smart reports: "It was a goalfest at Blatch on Saturday as the 3s slid back into the top spot with a healthy goal difference of 32 (double that of South Saxons who sit in second place with equal points).
Chapter 1: Shelley
We had lots of great attacking play from the start with the forwards - Izzy K, Izzy L and Shelley - enjoying time on the ball. Having worked on deflections at training, Shelley opened the scoring with a lovely short range tap in.
Chapter 2: Alex
After taking a long break from goal scoring, the comeback was a good one, if I do say so myself. Izzy L took the ball to the left side baseline and went for a shot. The save landed nicely in front of me for a smash with just enough lift to find the right hand corner of the goal.
Chapter 3: Gemma
Gemma and Georgie displayed some lovely passing into the D with the last touch coming from Gemma onto a Horsham stick to slap it in the wrong direction and into the back of the goal for us.
Chapter 4: Ellen
Midfielders Elise and Beth did a great job pulling the opposition out wide to create a clear path down the middle for Georgie to carry the ball halfway down the pitch. After a nice one-two with Ellen at the top of the D to eliminate a defender, Georgie took a shot which came off the keeper straight to Ellen to flick into the goal.
Chapter 5: Shelley
The defensive line of Amanda, Diva, Lizzy and Aisha intercepted anything that reached the halfway line with some lovely calm transfers to keep possession. Making good connections up the pitch, the ball found its way to goal hungry Shelley for a reverse hit into the goal.
Chapter 6: Beth
Amanda made crucial runs out of defence up the right wing with slick passes into the D. Using the match as half marathon prep, Beth connected with a cross into the D and really committed herself, throwing herself on the floor to get the ball across the line.
Chapter 7: Shelley
Desperate to buy another jug of Prosecco, Shelley secured a hat-trick. According to the notes dutifully taken by Juliet on the sideline, she fell on the floor but looked cool.
Chapter 8: Georgie
Keen to end on a nice even eight goals, Georgie carried the ball all the way to the goal with her trademark wiggle, slipping it past the keeper with ease in the final minute of the match.
Eight goals and no cards, mainly down to Rich staying in the dugout with his therapy dog.
Thanks to Emily for putting in two shifts in goal on Saturday. This second game wasn’t terribly eventful for her but she nailed the one save she was called on to make.
PoM: A solid team effort this week.
DoD: Unofficially Aisha for trying to throw the ball up the pitch for a sideline hit and barely making it five metres."
