Brighton & Hove Hockey Club's annual general meeting (AGM) will be held on Wednesday July 6, 2022, at 7.30pm at The Nevill cricket pavilion (the clubhouse) off Eridge Road, Hove BN3 7QD.
Please make a date in your diaries and every effort to attend.
This is your chance to have a say and play a part in your club's future, to hear about progress and developments on and off the pitch, how Covid-19 has affected things, to ask questions, make your views known and to put yourself forward as someone who can help in the organisation and management of a growing and successful club.
The Chairman, Graham Edwards, kindly invites all club members (players and social), parents of junior players and those interested in joining BHHC to come to the AGM.
This year Graham is making a special appeal for volunteers to help run our club. There is a vacancy for the important administrative role of Club Secretary (details attached) and for a Social Media Manager to help promote the club along with other positions.
"We are a large club in size now but with only the income of a small club," says Graham. "Despite that, this season we have had success and promotions with both the men's and women's sides as well as the Cormorants winning the national plate under-16 girls competition.
"It is, however, getting to the point where the few volunteers that help run the club, captain the sides, coach the teams and manage the juniors are struggling. If you would like to support the club we would be more than happy to find a way for you to help. Whatever your skills we will find a use for them. Please speak to me in person or email me at g.edwards43@ntlworld.com"
The AGM is an annual opportunity to show your passion for the club and get involved, help us grow on past success and – above all - to make sure that Brighton & Hove Hockey Club remains a great place to play hockey. We already have a friendly, helpful, committed and dedicated team who make the club function efficiently and successfully and we want to help us improve further.
