Simon Healey reports: “Guildford arrived at a very blowy Blatchington on Sunday morning with only 10 players. This was fortunate as Brighton could also only field 10 at the start, due to injury and lateness. By the time we had a full team after 15 minutes we were already 3-0 up, totally dominating the early stages.

We then decided to stay 10 v 10, which made for a very open game. Guildford battled gamely, and created several chances with Martha in goal making some excellent saves to restrict them to one goal. Our back four were all solid.

At the other end, we managed eight goals in total with Poppy (3), Sorrel (2), Imo, Honey and Meg all contributing. They were helped by some great play down the wings by Elsie and Athena, and Honey’s strength and creativity dominated the game. The highlight was a solo effort from Poppy which included the best first touch you will see all year. Still early days but this team is looking very strong for the season."
