Three Brighton & Hove Hockey Club members finished runners-up in the prestigious annual England Hockey Awards presented in Leicester at the weekend.

Alan Grey was highly commended in the Lifetime Achievement award, which went to Glyn Thomas; Corinna Rees was pipped by Jim Goldstraw in the Unsung Club Hero category; and former BHHC member Paul Westgate, who was a member of the Varndean College side coached by Alan to the English Schools Championship in 1984, was a runner-up in the Area/County Volunteer section, which was won by Georga Reed.
