First league game - three points

This was the 7s first game as a League team and we did so well and are immensely proud of our win. We had the support of an England goalie, our coach on the sidelines, a sunny and dry pitch and three cute puppies. What could possibly stop us from winning ?!

The first half was dominated by us pushing into Worthing's half and only rarely did they make it over the halfway line; our Midfielders used the space and sent the forwards wide and high. The Worthing goalie was a tough cookie to get past (and screeching with it as well!) but Anah managed to get around her and score not once but twice. The third goal was nicely put in by Holly after some scramble and kerfuffling going on in the opposition's D.

The second half was a little more intense, as Worthing was pushing harder to get into our half and get a few shots on goal, but to no avail. We didn't manage to score again in the second half as one goal was disallowed having been scored from outside the D, but were pleased as punch with our performance and how well we played together as a team, considering that there were a lot of players who had not played together before.

Maybe it was the three puppies that made us do it, maybe it was just our excitement of a new season starting and the ambition to score proper league points, it matters not, we won and we had fun!

MOM (that's 'Man Of The Match', Anah!) : Anah Coleman
DOD: Lucy Thomas - for bringing the distracting puppies
