On this page we have set out some key summary information and with further details available on additional pages linked below.

General information about our Junior Section
Our junior section starts from Year 1 to Year 11. Those in Year 12 & above tend to play in our adult teams, although depending on numbers we may run U18 teams.

Our home pitches are located at Blatchington Mill School. We have two astro-pitches.

We run several teams for boys and girls. The older juniors, play on Saturdays with some Sunday fixtures for specific competitions. The rest of the juniors, U14s and below, mainly play on Sundays. Each team has a volunteer manager and usually a couple of additional admin helpers. We would like many parents as possible to volunteer and help out much as possible!

Training is scheduled for weekday evenings Each training group will have a nominated lead coach and supporting coaches. All training takes place during Blatchington Mill School term dates. The hockey season starts in September and finishes in April.

The annual junior membership fees for 2023/24 season is £180 for all age group up to U16s (i.e. Year 11). See next page for further details.

    Hockey equipment
All juniors have to wear a mouth-guard and shin-pads; BHHC cannot accept responsibility for injuries resulting from not wearing them.

We have spare sticks that we can lend to new joiners during training sessions. All juniors should wear sports kit and should take into account weather conditions (i.e. water-proofs, gloves / beanie hats for wet / cold conditions). Layers of kit are recommended. Additionally good trainers for astro-turf surface.
