The new season opens at Brighton and Hove Hockey Club on Saturday September 7 with the traditional Club Day for adult women and men at Blatchington Mill School.

It's just part of a busy weekend, with Juniors Club Day on Sunday, a four-team women's Seaside and Sticks Festival over the two days and, of course, food and hot and cold soft drinks pitchside courtesy of Club Chairman Graham Edwards, who will be manning the barbecue and serving up burgers again.

And for those who are keen to getting cracking early for 2019-2020, Andrew Bromley invites members to take part in 'Parkrun Takeover' in Hove Park on Saturday morning before Club Day. It's free: meet at 8.45am for the 5km fun run and wear your blue Brighton playing shirt.
