Men's training and Club Day details announced

Pre-season starts Monday September 2, then training and games on September 7. New members welcome

Details of pre-season training for Brighton and Hove Hockey Club's men's section and the men's programme for Club Day on Saturday September 7 have been released.

Men's training starts on Monday September 2 with a one-off session on the north pitch at Blatchington Mill School, Hove, from 7.30 to 9pm. Then training will be weekly from Wednesday September 11 - 7.30pm to 9pm - on the north pitch. The sessions will be run by Andrew Bromley.

Club Day is open to all existing players and prospective new players. Players for the men's 4s to 8s and new players should meet at Blatchington Mill School at 10.45am for a training session and games from 11am to 1pm on the south pitch.

Following that, the men's 2s and 3s will have training and games on the south pitch from 1pm to 3pm.

Club Day for adult women and men is on Saturday September 7 and for juniors on Sunday September 8.

For the women, Saturday September 7 will be split into two sessions on the north pitch, with players looking to play for the 5s, 6s, 7s and 8s next season taking part in the morning from registration at 10.30am, warm up and ball skills with coach Wendy Russell from 10.45 to 11.30 followed by half-pitch 7-a-side matches until 12.30pm.

The programme for the 1s, 2s, 3s and 4s starts with registration at 12.40pm, followed by warm up and ball skills with coach Wendy Russell from 12.50 to 1.30 and then half-pitch 7-a-side matches until 2.30pm.

FUEL Hockey, the club's new kit suppliers, will be in attendance on both days of Club Weekend showcasing a range of merchandise and offering services, including stick re-gripping, plus advice to parents and players to help inform their buying decision.
