Wednesday nights with Wendy for fitness and skills

While the weather may have been disappointing, the turn out for the start of women's pre-season training this week was very encouraging as Brighton and Hove Hockey Club gears up for the start of the new season.

"Great turn out in not so great weather," said new Women's Membership Secretary Marie Jarvis as around 30 members took part in the first session on Wednesday night at Blatchington Mill School in Hove.

"The women's pre-season training started this evening to ease us back into training ... or so we thought. There was nothing easy about it as Wendy kicked it off with fitness and skills leading into 'The Game' at the end.

"There was a great turn out with new members joining and a great mix from all the teams. With numbers set to rise next week don't expect it to be easy for those of you who have yet to come!"

Pre-season training for BHHC's women's section runs on Wednesday nights from 7.30pm to 9pm until September 4. The sessions are aimed at those who wish to play for teams between the women's 3s and 8s and take place on the north pitch at Blatchington Mill. Club Weekend is September 7 (for the adults) and 8 (for the juniors).
