Two wins and second place at Eastbourne Festival for BHHC youngsters

A keen and excited Brighton and Hove HC Under-10 girls team who had never played together before got off to a great start to the season by finishing second at the Eastbourne Festival on Sunday.

Wendy Russell, BHHC's Director of Coaches, said for most of the players the first under-10 girls tournament of the season was their first time playing for the club. "All the girls rotated different positions for the matches and great determination was showed by all. Most of the girls wanted to have a go at goalkeeper so we had very quick changeovers for this: well done to Beatrix, Sophie and Elize for taking on this role for the first time."

"A cracking first match with a 4-0 victory over Eastbourne was great for their confidence, The second match was closely fought, but Lewes beat us 0-2. Then we went on to beat Burgess Hill 1-0. A great start to the season and we finished second overall."
