The hockey programme is boosted by workshops, tactical sessions, clinics and demos under the supervision of top trainers. This camp is for all hockey ability levels and players are grouped by ability to maximise their learning.

Whilst the focus is on hockey for at least 5 hours per day, there are plenty of breaks to relax, recharge and have fun – social events are organised for each day. There is 24 hours supervision with 1 staff member per 4 participants. The whole camp location is gated and secure - so everyone is looked after!

Camping at the Hockey Camp
The accommodation is in tents – boys and girls in separate tents (6-8 per tent). There is normally a ‘tent daddy’ or ‘tent mummy’ allocated from the Sportways staff team. Sleeping bags, roll-mats, etc.. are required. At least 4 weeks before the camp a list of requirements will be provided (don’t forget your hockey stick!). A meeting will also be organised for parents and juniors at least 2 months before the camp.

Food and drinks are provided through out the camp week and so there shouldn’t be a need to bring anything extra or money. However, there is a small ‘tuck-shop’ selling snacks and drinks, and Sportways suggests bringing no more than Eur5.00 per day.

Travel to Holland
It is up to parents to organise how their child gets to the camp. May be a few parents come together and take a group, however it will be the responsibility of parents.

Flights from Gatwick to Amsterdam (Schiphol) daily with both BA and Easyjet (Sportways will shuttle group to/from the camp).
Eurostar from London to Amsterdam Centraal Station – then metro/taxi to camp
Eurotunnel from Folkestone to Calais – total journey time from Brighton to Amsterdam is between 5 and 6 hours.

Accommodation around the hockey camp area (Amstelveen)
The hockey camp accommodation is only for the junior players. However, for parents staying over, there are a variety of hotels/ B&Bs /AirBnBs in the Amstelveen area. There are good metro (tramline) connections into central Amsterdam.
