Neil Beglin offers £250 donation to club funds for any member selling their house through his franchise

Joining the flock: BHHC members will find Neil Beglin even more easy to spot after signing up as a club sponsor

Brighton and Hove Hockey Club is delighted to announce that EweMove (Hove) has become a sponsor in an innovative initiative which will simultaneously help members with their property sale and benefit the club financially.

EweMove (Hove) owner Neil Beglin, a member of BHHC for 40 years, sponsored the club's popular race night last season and launched the offer to donate £250 to club funds for each property sold by EweMove for a club member. "Any BHHC member (and their friends and family) that instructs EweMove (Hove) will not only get a first-class award-winning service (with a Happy Seller Guarantee) but they will also be benefiting the club greatly," says Neil.

"So far we have two BHHC properties under way; one going through and one just listed," he added. When asked what motivated him to make the offer to become the club's official property partner, he said: "I see this as a great way to give the club we love some significant investment." Contribution is one of his key values he says: every sale EweMove makes generates a donation to Make Change Count, an umbrella charity that helps get people get off (and stay off) our city's streets.

Known to many as 'Begs', Neil has been a member of BHHC since he was 13 and is a familiar face at the club. In his playing days he was a frequent winner of the club's annual top goalscorer award and held the record for the most goals in a season for many years (now eclipsed by 'Doc' Richard Cook). He played in all sides for Brighton from 1st XI ("when we were not very good," he quips) to Veterans, including skippering the young Rocks. He also toured to a number of overseas tournaments and festivals and since hanging up his stick a few years ago is now serving on the committee, supporting, occasionally umpiring and, when time permits, helping Chairman Graham behind the bar.

He took on the EweMove (Hove) franchise earlier this year and offers a rent and lettings service in Brighton and Hove as well as property advice. "I manage a portfolio of lettings for landlords that require a better standard of tenant," he says. "I chose to work with lovely landlords that want lovely tenants. No one vets a tenant more thoroughly than me; that way stress and hassle are reduced and everybody wins."
