Brighton 5's caught out by the Law !!
The 5s played there first home game away from Fortress Deeson, with Kumar coming into goal for the feverish Glen. The pitch was frozen but the game went ahead. After the first few minutes it was clear that Brighton were in for a physical battle. The first half passed without any really
>note except for a couple of greens for both Brighton and the Police. Halftime 0-0.
In the second half Brighton started brightly unlike the conditions which seemed to get darker, an omen of the result. Again there was not much to report except crunching tackles and elbows flying. After 12 minutes Benson was brought down for the 8th time by the big number 5, had the whistle blown, everyone stopped, and Dan picked himself up from the floor and the ball. Dan got a yellow card for picking the ball up in open play!!!! There had been no whistle and the defender got a yellow for the tackle. And the decision a bully?? Not sure how that was?
Brighton were throwing caution to the wind and had a lucky escape when a quick Police counter attack resulted in their burly striker rounding Kumar and hitting the post with the goal at his mercy. Worse followed, after 22 minutes the Police capitalized on some slack play on the Brighton left and a cross from the by line was converted by an unmarked player standing at
the top of the D.
With minutes to go the Tosh hit a free from outside the D which their skipper touched on the goal line. No one know if he had crossed the line and no goal was given !
Final score 1-0 to the Police.
A very disappointing end to the year by The Famous 5's. However Ramzy,
Bondy, Jamie, Matt, College, Dan, Birdy & Tosh managed to drink through the disappointment on their team night out ! By the end of the night no one could remember the result !
