BHHC 3's 3-1 Ladies' 4th XI

Poised for what would be a tough game we were ready for our first outing against the 3’s this season. We were in white but no matter, some of us had brand new shirts gleaming in the morning sun. After a nervous wait for Jayne…running down to the pitch with seconds to spare (we know where you were!) we were off to an premature start when the 3’s tried to start the game early, we took the ball back to the centre and when everybody was ready off we went again.
We had them nervous in the first half. They were the better team, but we had a determined spirit to put up a fight for this game. They were not expecting this from us and their shots were not finding the back of the net thanks to some excellent marking from our defense. And then we did it, we broke through their lines and Kate got an excellent goal from the top of the D taking us 1-0 up. This shook up the 3’s and they returned with an unlucky goal just before half time, mind our keeper will you!
Spirits high at half time, we went back out but we seemed to come out against another team who had been woken up at half time. We battled on but conceded two more goals to bring it to 3-1 at the end of the game.
We fought well and kept them on their toes, we’ll see you next year!
