Worthing 3's 3-8 Men's 3rd XI
Having already beaten Worthing 3’s in the cup Brighton were looking to make a positive start. Brighton didn’t disappoint and found themselves in a goal mouth scrap within five minutes which found Bondy on the ‘p’ spot with an easy tap in. From the restart Brighton were again attacking, looking to extend their lead. It wasn’t long when the ball was picked up on the right from a well placed aerial by Prucy findingd Leo who slipped it onto Matt Harding who drove it to the bass line where a one-two with Chris Page found Harding in a position to finish. Brighton by now looked the dominant side and the goals started to flow. The next to find the goal was a Dave Delea flicked shot from a short corner routine that found Prucy slipping the ball to Dave. Brighton’s next scorer was an unlikely candidate but not unwelcome in the form of Ross Cobley, who found himself in the midst of a goal mouth scramble where he was to have the final say! 4-0 and Brighton were on a roll, surely there couldn’t be anymore?! Brighton’s fifth was scored by Ade farthing in yet another goal mouth scramble. Individual brilliance from James Calloway who darted around the Worthing defence as if they were training cones into the ‘D’ before drilling home a well placed goal saw Brighton’s goal tally up to six. Finishing of the proceedings was Dave Delea who walked the ball into the goal and Ade Farthing from a short corner. Worthing did manage three goals during the game but Brighton looked the better team and were in control from the start.
