Trojans 1-10 Men's 2nd XI
Brighton went into the match against Trojans looking to further stamp their authority on the league table. With a squad bolstered by the promotion of Andy Acott the chance was there to further strengthen an already impressive goal difference.
Brighton imposed themselves from the off creating chance after chance. Acott was on fire and was rocketing the ball in from all angles. The score at half-time was 4-1 with the most notable point of the half being Brightons talismanic captain striding back onto the pitch after a long period of injury.
The story of the second half once again belonged to Andy Acott, firing the ball into all corners of the goal ending up with an impressive 6 goals to his name. Goals also came from Oli who looks to be doing what he does best again; Jon To with a slick move off a short corner; and well, I hesitate to mention it in the same breadth as the other goals least I drag them down, a goal from Dan Hore which I suppose added to the score line if not the beauty of the game.
So there it is, an empathic 10-1 victory. Sevenoaks are up next, the team in second place will be chomping at the bit for this one on their home turf, has Brighton got what it takes to be 5 points ahead at Christmas…
