Gore Court 3-3 Men's 2nd XI

After years of waiting Brighton finally put in a top performance in a game that mattered as they looked the part ..........Also it was Al Mcguiness first real test as mini bus driver ( apart from the other time)..........once again the team raised expectation levels and it has to be hoped that this sort of performance will become .....er..... folk law with elf singing song about the time...........

1st Half of the Game (3-1)

There was nothing remarkable about this performance other than the fact that it was simply an excellent team effort with each department of the team looking after its' own responsibilities and then blending into a powerful, coherent unit as confidence visibly spread throughout the ranks.

2nd Half of Game

With Brighton playing as a Quitticth team.. the snitch was flying left to right over and around like a ballon losing its air............and then it stopped...well twice it stopped.. and then starts again.. the end.

.........and i do like soup, which is unrated sometimes, but not all the time............

........if your are hearing a buzzing noise, its your computer.. if not .. its better than this one....

Well, to expand slightly on Dermot's... interesting match report I'd like to add the follwing:

It was a tough Saturday for a game of hockey, the freezing wind was howling and the rain was coming at us sideways. Gore Court was always going to be a tough venue to go to and come away with anything so on reflection a point is not too bad.

The first half saw a resolute Brighton team battle the elements and a stubborn opposition. There were glimpses of the hockey we could play that shone through and we came in with a deserved 3-1 lead.
I for one thought we could rattle another 3 by them in the second half but it was not to be. A resolute Gore Court team aided by a tiring, leg weary (and here I hold up my hand) Brighton team stole 2 goals to even it up at the final whistle.
Hats off to Dan Hacking who played the majority of the game one-handed after being injured early on (we only had the bare 11 unfortunately) and our thanks goes to the umpires who must have found it very difficult to do a good job in such testing conditions.
What doesn’t break us makes us stronger and all that rubbish so bring on Rover Oxford!
