London Wayfarers 2-4 Men's 2nd XI

Brighton & Hove 2nds had a game at home after playing their last 3 matches away. London Wayfarers were a keen side arriving early having put 6 past their last opposition.
Play started aggressively with Dan ‘you’re an animal!’ Hacking taking a face injury by the Wayfarers forward who should have been charged with GBH but was lucky to escape a yellow. Brighton retaliated with Alan ‘smasher’ McGuinness slotting one away and was able to control his celebration, making Brighton go into half time 1-0 up.
The start to the second half was positive as with Oli ‘deller who?’ Pothelswaite putting in the second. Wayfarers returned with substantial pressure on the Brighton defense with Dermott ‘new stick could do with some more tape’ Cameron, Dan ‘lucky shorts’ Hore and Luke ‘flowers’ Williams making some excellent tackles at the back.
Ed ‘the cock’ Heathcock was also called into action with a very good stick save off a short corner but this was not enough as Wayfarers eventually put one past.
Brighton immediately responded with Ross ‘7 goals in 7 games’ Hardwick deservedly finishing put in a nice one two with the opposition keeper. With London Wayfarers looking to get back into it, lack of concentration led to another put past to make the score 3-2.
But Brighton remembering the disappointment after the hard work last week held strong with Oli finishing off Ross’s cheeky reverse under the keeper again to leave the final score at 4-2. These 3 well earned points leave Brighton 2XI joint at the top of the table with last weeks opposition West Hampstead. The team faces Gore Court away this Saturday.
