West Hampstead 2's 2-2 Men's 2nd XI

Brighton & Hove 2nd XI went to West Hampstead have obtained 6 out of 6 points from 2 fairly convincing games but still with something to prove. The first half went to plan with some confident passing combined with deliberate runs from Simon 'Ninja' Acott and Kenny 'Tourettes' Rogers in the midfield making it easy for the defence to distribute the ball. Brighton's defence consisted of Dan 'Allo Allo' Hacking, Dan '118 118 Casino' Hore, Dermott 'Space Cadet' Cameron and Alan 'I injured myself celebrating a goal' McGuiness. The midfield worked very hard with Jon 'Casino Royale' To and Jamie 'Sub me off I'm playing crap' Hendrick creating some decent attacking moves. West Hampstead found it hard to break Brighton down and with two goals from Ross 'So you're doing a Fashion Degree?' Hardwick supported by Oli 'Where's my wall?' Pothelswaite, Brighton were in the driving seat and looking at another 3 points.
The second half saw Brighton self implode like pigeons feasting on bicarbonate of soda. It was messy! Ed 'Owen Wilson' Heathcock made some outstanding saves to keep Brighton in the lead, the best of which was a one-on-one at the top of the D where the skilful but cocky centre forward seemed to be round The Cock only for The Cock's stick to reach around and whip the ball to safety. The Cock could do nothing to prevent West Hampstead's first goal where some very loose play allowed them to attack down the middle only for player coach, and semi-crippled, Luke 'I'm getting to old for this' Williams was caught off his man who deflected passed the oncoming Cock.
Brighton began to get worried and it wasn't long before the equaliser was scored from open play and with West Hampstead on a role, Brighton were in danger of coming away with nil point. Their nerve held out though, and on reflection West Hampstead looked very pleased with a point. Brighton, on the other hand, were disappointed not to take all 3 points.
Brighton play London Wayfarers at Falmer next Saturday.
