Spencer (Wandsworth) 2-3 Men's 1st XI

After another shakey start and a lot of 'positive' encouragement from the side of the pitch, Brighton settled down and started to play hockey. Spencer went close with a reverse stick flick which sailed over Neil Burlinson's crossbar (i'm sure he had it covered though!).

The sigh of releif prompted a swift patch of concentration which led to some nice flowing hockey, working it well through Justin Harris & Simon Turner in midfeild and resulted in Sam Rose & Gareth Lendrum putting Brighton 2-0 up by the interval. Brighton nerves wavered when Spencer brought the game back to 2-2 with 8 minutes to go despite Neil Burlinson making a row of saves that kept Brighton in it. In true Brighton spirit the whole team dug deep and found that extra drive to get the winner 4 miutes from time through Captain Luke Williams after a well worked short corner that left the Spencer defence looking like statues.

A well desevred 3 points!
