Horsham 2 3-4 Men's 3rd XI
Scorers: Beglin (3) Davros (1)
The mighty 3's were back to their winning ways aided by much awaited returns from two key players: Messers Pruce and Delea.
The victory was also partly in response to the 'lucky dynamic stretch' in the warm up. The positive and enthusiastic adoption of this from the boys was encouraging and it is destined to be a regular feature for the season. Andy the Hair injured himself in the warm up but played well - enduring the pain.
The 3's looked good first half, converting two short corners, one a text book Simpson Special, the other a nicely placed strike into the corner. 2 - 1 up at half time and definitely the better team. Davros converted a flick (3 - 2) then Beglin completed his hat trick having been set up intelligently by Davros (4 - 2). A late consolation goal was not enough to dampen our spirits and we created more chances in the last stages. Goochy gave blood for the cause and we hope his stitches heal swiftly (along with his open fracture - cheers Horsham - Ed). No bad performances from any of the squad. Scopesy did well with a hangover from hell, The devil wearing Prada was unsympathetic in his passing, but a left back genius. Paul and Duncan need to work on their fitness... they're too fit!
All in all, a really decent performance (following the pathetic display against Sutton Vallance 2's). This side will be a force to reckon with this season.
