Purley 7-6 Men's 1st XI

With just one point from two games in their first season in the top of the South leagues, Brighton were eager to display their competence at this level.
With four players missing from the squad, including Captain Dickie B, Brighton's starting line-up nonetheless were confident of a good result. However the game was to be far from predictable. Both teams at times took control of the game but Brighton were usually left chasing the home side.
At half time, the score was tied at 3 a piece and Brighton had a chance to sure up their play, especially in defense. Unfortunately this opportunity was not grasped upon and within minutes Brighton were trailing 6-3.
However Brighton produced an exciting come-back, returning to 6-6 only to let Purley grab the winner, leaving Brighton struggling to find an equaliser but to no avail.
Notably, Kevie (capt on the day) has now more goals for the 1st X1 this season than Dave Delea (at last)
