End of Season Report 0-0 Men's 4th XI
What a season! Fourteen points clear of the eventual league winners, Hailsham 1s, with 9 games left and 2-0 up with 20 mins to go in the cup final, the Super 4s failed to live up to their tag and managed to lose both pieces of silverware, eventually finishing 4th in the league and losing 3-2 in golden goal extra time to EG in the cup.

Kobe Beefs' foot in mouth comment, after Farthing scored his 2nd in the cup final "It's our destiny!"
Player of the season : Andy Hehir
Howlers are always remembered as they provide entertainment as in the case of Mr Hehir. However people find it easy to then forget the number of superb saves that he made to keep us in the game at crucial times. Coupled with this his attitude all season was excellent both on and off the pitch. This was best summed up by the cup final. Even though he knew he would be benching, he turned up to the training session to help out the team, was supportive througout the game and admitted afterwards that he wouldn't have played anywhere near as well as Kumar had done.

All in all a rollercoaster of a season, but ultimately tinged with disappointment having been in the driving seat for 2 trophies and ending up with none. When the team gelled we were awesome but towards the end lack of fitness and consistency with players (lost to a greater cause!) took their toll.
Cheers to all those who umpired and also to Matt, Myles and Wappy for support during the season. And thank god we don’t have to encounter those 2 players from Hailsham next season, whose behaviour was an embarassment to hockey!
