This fantastic annual event for the women's section - fun, food, drinks and karaoke - is all set for Saturday October 12 from 7pm at the starter hosts with the Good Companions at Seven Dials the venue for the late-night action from 9.30pm.

Cost per person is £30 payable in cash to your team captain by Saturday October 5.

This year, the event will support BHHC member Amanda Chalmers by raising funds for Cystic Fibrosis.

The organisers are looking for hosts to accommodate up to 10 people for either the starter or main course so please let your captain know if you would like to do it.

Co-organiser Monica Howlett says: "This year we will be having our usual women’s Meal About Town but with a difference after the main course.

"In support of our hockey club member Amanda Chalmers we are raising money for Cystic Fibrosis. The venue after the main course from 9.30pm will be the Good Companions Pub, 132 Dyke Rd, Brighton BN1 3TE.

"Amanda had her second set of lungs transplanted three months ago due to Cystic Fibrosis and is still recovering in hospital. She is the most positive and inspiring person we know. There will be a collection box at the pub; any donations big or small would be greatly appreciated.

"The Good Companions is booked upstairs from 7pm so we would like to invite the men to go along and the women will join from 9.30pm. The karaoke will be set up too but on a help yourself basis!
